Welcome to i225
Made possible by earning a Carol M. White PEP grant
Carol M. White PEP Grants are given to deserving projects to improve a school’s physical education programming by increasing student opportunities to engage in physical activity while also promoting healthy nutrition decisions. The grant is offered to schools who would like to implement diverse physical education programming that increases the number of minutes that students engage in moderate to vigorous activity, correlating to improved student health.
Welcome to RSU 14’s (Windham Raymond Schools) PEP grant project, “i225.” Our project, i225 is incorporating “Centers for Wellness”. Our grant is titled, “Centers for Wellness: Healthier Kids Now for a Healthier Community tomorrow.” The i225 branding is the suggested number of minutes that students should be actively engaging in exercise during their school week. For our students who reach this important goal, or exercise well beyond it, can proudly say… “i225;” meaning that they engage in 225 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise each school week.
Our grant is a three year project that will ultimately infuse approximately $1 million towards programming for our targeted audience, Windham 6 – 12 graders. The grant programming has been broken down into Wellness Centers: the Windham Middle School is The Center for Motivational Wellness, the high school/Real School is The Center for Lifelong Wellness, our Windham DARE to Adventure Program, and our Windham Parks and Recreation Program is The Center for Community Wellness, and in our schools we also have The Center for Nutritional Wellness.
Welcome to our informational website, check out our videos, links to our grant abstract and table of contents page, meet our motivated grant team, check out news articles and local news stories highlighting our project, stay up-to-date on community events, check out our vendors, and much more. The most important question is: "Do you i225?"
